about

In the former Yugoslavia there was a legendary improvisatorial pianist who had completely fallen through the cracks of the cement bridge known as musical historical criticism.

The following is the very rare record of an event where said pianist performed. Legend has it that the bill of the night had the following other artists also included: The Rigatono Circus Act, Billy Armstice, Holy X, and the Fatherberries. Our piano hero opened the night.

Somewhere around the year 1913 while vacationing off the Adriatic coast he was approached by a gang of balkan pirates. In order to survive he made a deal with them: 5 days a week, 7 hours a day, 2 play periods with 2 hour lunch breaks for the patrons of some nameless cafe in the mountains of Montenegro for the rest of his life.

This rare 1923 recording captures a period in his captivity where he was actively revolting against his captors by intentionally playing very abrasive and left-field sounds.

This is rare and historical. Enjoy.
